What is PORON, and how do we make insoles with it?

Yuea Tay Industrial Co., Ltd. uses a variety of composite materials to manufacture insoles, ensuring the highest quality through stringent procedures and inspections at every stage. Below are the materials we commonly use:

PORON

PORON is an industrial polyurethane foam material invented by Rogers Corporation in the mid-20th century. It has a microcellular open-cell structure achieved through polyurethane foaming, allowing air and moisture to pass through, ensuring excellent breathability and moisture-wicking properties. Closed-cell foam, in contrast, is like tiny balloons filled with air that cannot flow freely. The choice between open or closed-cell design depends on customer needs. (Yuea Tay has nearly 30 years of R&D experience, welcome to inquire.)

PORON features:

  • Softness
  • Excellent elasticity
  • Anti-deformation
  • High sealing
  • Good breathability
  • Low outgassing
  • Non-fogging
  • Non-corrosive
  • Resistance to brittleness

This durable material is commonly used in insoles, sports gear, and other products needing cushioning and shock absorption, such as electronics.

In our insoles, both YT-006 and YT-008 use PORON in the heel area to provide extra shock absorption. In the M1 MULTI-FUNCTION INSOLE, we place PORON in the forefoot cushion for added comfort, while a PU gel pad is inserted in the rearfoot cushion, making it a versatile insole suitable for various sports as well as everyday wear.

Poliyou Material

Poliyou, also known as "breathable shoe material," has an open molecular structure, providing moisture-wicking properties that help reduce bacterial growth in damp environments. This makes Poliyou not only comfortable but also long-lasting with antibacterial effects.

Eco-Friendly Material

Poliyou is a recyclable, eco-friendly open-cell polyurethane (PU) foam. Its 100% open-cell structure offers superior breathability compared to closed-cell structures in other shoe materials. Additionally, antibacterial agents are added during manufacturing to inhibit bacterial growth, resulting in breathable and antibacterial moisture-wicking insoles.

In our insoles, both YT-009 and YT-010 ANTIBACTERIAL INSOLE use Poliyou, which not only provides a comfortable wearing experience but also offers moisture absorption, perspiration wicking, and breathability, helping to inhibit bacterial growth and control odor.

EVA Foam

EVA foam (ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer foam) is a lightweight, soft, and resilient material widely used in various products. Key features include:

  • Lightweight: Does not add weight to products.
  • Softness and Elasticity: Provides excellent cushioning and shock absorption for comfort.
  • Water and Chemical Resistance: Resistant to water and most chemicals, preventing moisture and corrosion.
  • Weather Resistance: Maintains stable performance across different temperatures and environments without degrading.
  • Good Processing: Easy to cut, shape, and process into various sizes and shapes.

Main Applications:

  • Footwear: Insoles, shoe soles for comfort and support.
  • Sports Gear: Knee pads, elbow pads for cushioning and protection.
  • Packaging: Protecting fragile items.
  • Crafts and Toys: Lightweight and soft toys and crafts.
  • Building and Industrial Materials: Insulation for sound and heat.

Our insoles are available in EVA/PU/Poron, PU/PU Gel, EVA/PU/PU Gel, and other material combinations. For more information or inquiries, feel free to contact us or email us.
